Bush Doll to Hit Market

President George W. Bush is hitting the toy market—in the form of an “elite force aviator” action figure. Blue Box toy manufacturer has produced a 12″ action figure of President Bush donning a naval aviator flight suit.

Blue Box toy manufacturer has produced a 12″ action figure of President Bush donning a naval aviator flight suit. The limited-edition 1:6 scale figure is based on Bush’s jet landing on the USS Abraham Lincoln on May 1 to announce an end to major combat operations in Iraq.

“While at the controls of an S-3B Viking aircraft from the ‘Blue Sea Wolves’ of Sea Control Squadron Three Five (VS-35), designated ‘Navy 1,’ he overflew the carrier before handing it over to the pilot for landing,” reads the product description. “Attired in full naval aviator flight equipment, the President then took the salute on the deck of the carrier.”

The “fully poseable” action figure includes a detailed cloth flight suit, helmet with oxygen mask, survival vest, parachute harness and more.

“The realism and exacting attention to detail demanded by today’s 12-inch action figure enthusiast are met and exceeded with this action figure,” the description reads.

The doll costs $39.99 and will begin shipping Sept. 15 for those who pre-ordered. The figure is targeted to collectors of U.S. history and military memorabilia.

Blue Box, headquartered in Hong Kong, is not the only manufacturer toying with Bush’s likeness.

Irvine, Calif.-based TalkingPresidents.com also offers a 12″ Bush doll ($29.99). As the company name implies, this doll spits out several phrases the president has actually uttered, including, “You’re working hard to put food on your family.”

AmericaStore.com offers a Bush bobblehead, and HeroBuilders.com offers an array of Bush dolls, which are also marketed with Osama bin Laden and Saddam Hussein dolls.
