Soul of the South Network (SSN) will begin airing "Gospel Without Borders" at 8 p.m. Central time on Aug. 18.

A special 47-minute version of EthicsDaily.com's documentary will be broadcast multiple times in addition to the initial airing.

These additional air times include at midnight on Aug. 18, followed by Aug. 22 airings at 8 p.m. and midnight.

The final airing will be at 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24.

All times are Central Standard Time.

"Gospel Without Borders" brings more light and less heat to the issue of immigration.

It separates myth from fact, examines what the Bible says about treatment of the "stranger," shows the experiences of documented and undocumented immigrants, and provides handles for Christians to advance the common good.

The ecumenical documentary highlights stories in five states: Arizona, Arkansas, North Carolina, Alabama and Iowa.

Some stories break the heart. Others inspire the spirit. Still others challenge the mind. But all come together and show that the Christian gospel is indeed without borders.

"We're grateful that our documentary on faith and immigration has a chance to compete for TV eyeballs," Cliff Vaughn, media producer for EthicsDaily.com, said.

"Sane voices of faith don't get enough airtime, but Soul of the South is changing that," said Vaughn, who expressed hope that EthicsDaily.com readers would share broadcasting information with their churches and networks.

SSN currently has 18 stations carrying its programming. Its largest affiliate, WKOB in New York City, reaches nearly 7.5 million homes. The next largest affiliate, WOCK in Chicago, reaches 3.5 million homes.

Launched in May 2013, SSN focuses on black Americans, offering news, cultural and entertainment programming. Its programming reaches more than 20 million homes.
