Trevor Barton, an columnist, says the Sermon on the Mount turns the world upside down and helps him see and live in a new way.
Trevor Barton teaches fourth grade at a Title I elementary school and is a member of First Baptist Church in Greenville, South Carolina.

Taylors, South Carolina, and Burlington, North Carolina.

2. What is your favorite Bible verse, book or story? Why?

The Sermon on the Mount.

It turns the world upside down and helps me see and live in a new way.

3. What is your favorite movie? Why?


I am all about the underdog.

4. Who are three people you admire?

Gustavo Gutierrez (theologian), Edwidge Danticat (writer) and Robert Cunningham (my grandfather).

5. What is one little known fact about yourself?

At basketball camp, I scored on the NBA defensive player of the year, Bobby Jones of the Philadelphia 76ers.
