Profiles In Goodwill: Stuart Blythe

Stuart Blythe was born in Uddingston, a small town in western Scotland, near Glasgow.

Stuart Blythe is the rector of International Baptist Theological Study Centre in Amsterdam in the Netherlands.

1. Where did you grow up?

Uddingston, a small town near Glasgow in the west of Scotland.

2. What is your favorite verse, book or story in the Bible? Why?

Luke 10:25-37.

It has varied over the years, but if today I were asked to choose a critical text for defining the Christian faith, it would be this passage because "do this and you shall live."

3. What is your favorite movie? Why?

"So I Married an Axe Murder."

I, my family and friends know nearly all the lines, and the parody of the Scottish father is brilliantly funny.

4. Who are three people you admire?

Martin Luther King Jr., Athol Gill (radical Australian Baptist) and Muriel Lester (British peace activist).

5. What is one little-known fact about yourself?

I can dance the Argentinian tango (albeit badly).
