Colt, Arkansas, a small town in the Arkansas delta.

2. What is your favorite Bible verse, book or story? Why?

The Gospel of Mark.

Its shocking subtleties.

3. What is your favorite movie? Why?

"The Shawshank Redemption."

It portrays a hope that is as real and resolute as suffering is.

4. Who are three of the people you admire?

Fred Craddock, Hulitt Gloer (professor of preaching and Christian Scriptures at Baylor University's Truett Seminary) and Gina Clegg (my mom).

5. What is one little known fact about yourself?

I began preaching when I was 16 years old and pastoring when I was 18.
