Jonathan's articles that have appeared on EthicsDaily.com are available here.

1. Where did you grow up?

Pretoria, South Africa.

2. What is your favorite Bible verse, book or story? Why?

It recently became Psalm 23.

When I had a brief bout with cancer a few years ago, those were the only words that seemed both to understand where I was and give me hope and comfort.

3. What is your favorite movie? Why?

"Breaking the Waves" by Lars von Trier.

It is both brutal and achingly beautiful, with a strange message of grace and extreme love at its heart – a film that breaks you.

4. Who are three of the people you admire?

Graham Greene, Noam Chomsky and Richard Rohr.

5. What is one little known fact about yourself?

I used to be an alternative rock DJ on radio and in nightclubs in South Africa, playing goth, punk, metal, industrial and Christian alternative music.
