1. Where did you grow up?

Kingsport, Tennessee, in the Lynn Garden section.

2. What is your favorite Bible verse, book or story? Why?

Micah 6:8.

Honesty, mercy and humility are my goals in dealing with the world. Hopefully, I will get there before God calls me home.

3. What is your favorite movie? Why?

My latest favorite is "The Imitation Game."

I like movies taken from real-life events, and I liked the tenacity shown by Alan Turing in this film.

4. Who are three of the people you admire?

Jimmy Carter, Daniel Vestal and Howard McConnell (my uncle).

5. What is one little known fact about yourself?

I spent four years working as a stack tester, someone who climbs industrial smokestacks to do the EPA testing. Obviously, I am not as smart as I may appear.
