1. Where did you grow up?

I grew up in northern Virginia, where my father was director of missions for the local Baptist association.

2. What is your favorite Bible verse, book or story? Why?

I cannot choose a favorite part of Scripture any more than I can identify my favorite child.

I have always loved the story of Esther because what little girl wouldn't love a queen who can be a hero for God? Lately, I have been spending time with John 20:21, "as the father has sent me, I am sending you," as I pray about where God is sending me now.

3. What is your favorite movie? Why?

A recent movie that I enjoyed was "Lincoln."

In addition to telling a powerful story, it was filmed in my hometown of Richmond, Virginia, and I know a number of the people who served as extras in the film.

4. Who are three of the people you admire?

Jimmy Carter, John Upton and Bill Cumbie (my father).

5. What is one little known fact about yourself?

I love the needle arts; I always have one or more knitting, crocheting or cross-stitch projects underway.
